Meet Todd Tooms

As the Wine Director at Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse in Houston, where I’ve been part of the wine department for over 10 years. I’m a graduate of both the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College and The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, I began my career in the kitchens of Brennan’s of Houston, Charlie Trotter’s in Chicago, and Bradley Ogden in Las Vegas. My passion for the kitchen eventually led me to focus on front-of-house operations, specifically wine programs. After leaving Las Vegas, I ran a wine program in Washington, D.C. with BlackSalt before returning to Houston to work with the beverage programs at Shade and Canopy, ultimately landing at Vic & Anthony’s. 

Over the years, I’ve earned several professional wine certifications, including Certified Sommelier, WSET Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Wines & Spirits, Certified Specialist of Wine, and French Wine Scholar. I’m passionate about guiding guests through the extensive wine selection at Vic & Anthony’s, whether it’s a youthful and powerful Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon or a mature and subtle Bordeaux, along with many other exciting wines in our collection.

As a sommelier at Vic and Anthony’s Steakhouse since 2011, I am dedicated to curating an exceptional wine experience that complements the exquisite flavors of our cuisine. With a deep passion for Old World wines, I specialize in French and Italian varietals, offering a wealth of knowledge to guide you in selecting the perfect pairing for your meal. 

Additionally, my extensive understanding of Napa Valley wines allows me to provide a comprehensive selection that showcases the best of California's viticulture. Join me on a journey of discovery as we explore the harmonious interplay of food and wine.
